Domaine Ogereau - Clos Le Grand Beaupréau - Savennières 2022
Domaine Ogereau is located in Val-du-Layon, in Anjou in the Loire Valley. It is managed by Vincent Ogereau and his son Emmanuel , representing the fifth generation of the family to run this estate. The vineyards are located in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon and Savennières appellations and are managed using certified biodynamics .
Clos le Grand Beaupréau is made from Chenin Blanc from the eponymous vineyard in Savennières , on a terroir of schist and aeolian sand. After manual harvesting, the whole bunches are put into direct pressing. Alcoholic fermentation begins spontaneously with native yeasts in 20 hectoliter barrels, amphorae and two 400 liter oak barrels , including a new one. Malolactic conversion is not desired. Aging lasts 11 months.
