Bret Brothers - Mâcon-Chardonnay 2022
La Soufrandière is located in Vinzelles, in the Mâconnais in Burgundy . The estate has 11 hectares of Chardonnay vines, in the appellations of Mâcon-Vinzelles, Pouilly-Vinzelles, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé and Bourgogne Aligoté . In 2000, Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume Bret vinified their first vintage. They obtained certification in organic farming and then in biodynamics in 2006. In 2001, the two brothers, joined by the third, Marc-Antoine Bret , created their business “Artisan”; the Bret Brothers . They produce a total of 20 micro-cuvées – each wine representing a plot, and a winemaker.
Mâcon-Chardonnay is made from Chardonnay vines, whose age varies from 20 to 45 years. They are grown on plots located in Chardonnay and Ozenay, on very limestone soil. The grapes are harvested by hand then vinified by La Soufrandière and aged and bottled by Bret Brothers. Malolactic fermentation is not blocked. Aging is carried out in vats (80%) and barrels (20%).
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
