Domaine de Villaine - Rully 1er Cru - White 2021
Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron , in the north of Côte-Chalonnaise in Burgundy . The estate was purchased by Aubert and Pamela de Villaine in 1971, and has been managed since 2001 by their nephew, Pierre de Benoist . Since 1986, organic farming methods have been developed within the vineyard. The estate has several climats in the communes of Bouzeron, Rully, Mercurey and Santenay which are planted with Aligoté, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
In 2021, due to poor harvests caused by frost, Domaine de Villaine decided to blend all of its Rully Premiers Crus : Montpalais, Raclot, Margotés, Grésigny and Rabourcé. The wine is vinified and aged on fine lees for 12 months, in Burgundy barrels, 20% of which are new.
