Château TROTTEVIILLE 2007
Château Trotte Vieille is located in Saint-Émilion , Bordeaux . It is classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the official classification of Saint-Émilion wines and has belonged to the Borie-Manoux wine merchant company since 1949. Viticulture at Château Trotte Vieille was officially recorded for the first time in a document dating from 1453, making Trotte Vieille one of the oldest in the appellation. In fact, some of the vines in the 10-hectare enclosed vineyard are more than 140 years old. The dominant grape variety is Merlot, followed closely by Cabernet Franc and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. These vines are planted in red clay soils covering the limestone.
The Grand Vin de Château Trotte Vieille 2007 is a blend of Cabernet Franc (62%), Merlot (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%) . The harvest is done manually and the grapes are fermented in concrete vats at a controlled temperature. Vatting lasts 4 weeks, then the wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 18 to 24 months .
