PENDERYN - 2004 - 20 years - Ex-Bourbon - Foundations - 58.5%
The Penderyn Distillery is proudly located at the southern tip of the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park, in Wales. Once lost, the art of distillation in Wales was revived in the late 1990s by a group of passionate friends who founded the very first Welsh whisky distillery in over a century. Situated in the charming historic village of Penderyn, this distillery benefits from an exceptional supply of fresh natural spring water, a crucial element to ensure the purity and finesse of its whisky. Their first official whisky launch took place on St. David's Day in 2004, in the prestigious presence of His Royal Highness Prince Charles.
This remarkable expression was rigorously selected by La Maison du Whisky within the prestigious Foundations range. This exceptional whisky was distilled in 2004 and aged for 20 years in a single cask number 37\/2004, a carefully chosen ex-Bourbon barrel to enhance its aromas. Only 115 bottles were produced, making it a very rare and precious edition, sought after by connoisseurs and collectors.
