Swell de Spirits is an independent, family-owned bottler based in Pessac, France. The company was founded in 2021 by Michael Barbaria and Kelly . They release a variety of limited edition, rum, whiskey, armagnac bottles and cognac from distilleries around the world.
This pack brings together the two Eastern Tales editions; a Single Malt Ben Nevis 2014 and a Jamaican rum Hampden <>H 2013:
• Eastern Tales 01 “The Rooster” is the inaugural vintage of the opening of our gastronomic restaurant Constantia , on September 6, 2024 in Bordeaux. Representing Fidelity and Punctuality, the rooster is the tenth sign of the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac . In Chinese culture, the rooster has a symbolic meaning with generally auspicious connotations. For the ancestors, the crowing of the rooster was a notable sign because it wakes people up and ends the darkness. This Single Malt comes from the Ben Nevis distillery - Peated , located in the Highlands of Scotland . It was distilled in 2014 and aged for 10 years in Bourbon hogshead casks ; larger capacity barrels (250 liters) that impregnate the wood less intensely, thus offering a more subtle refinement. It was bottled in April 2024 at cask strength (58.1%). Only 140 bottles were produced.
• Eastern Tales n°2 “The Fish” is the second vintage from our gourmet restaurant Constantia which opened on September 6, 2024 in Bordeaux. Representing Luck and Abundance, the carp is one of the important symbols of ancestral Chinese culture. This symbol is also often used during the Chinese New Year as a wish for prosperity for the 'year to come. This Jamaican rum comes from the Hampden Distillery . It was distilled in 2013 and aged for 6 years in a tropical climate and almost 5 years in a continental climate (4 years and 11 months) in Bourbon barrels . Its mark is <>H (Diamond H) with an ester content of 900 to 1000 g/hlpa). It was bottled in June 2024, cask strength (66.4%). Only 150 bottles were produced.
