KAVALAN - Single Malt Whiskey - Ex Sherry Oak - 46%

 Kavalan ex sherry oak is aged in sherry casks. We find in this version the taste framework of the Solist Sherry version (single cask and cask brut range) as well as suptile spicy notes. Smooth and rich, it opens with notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate and nuts.

Kavalan burst onto the international scene by winning gold medals in competitions. She has also had numerous articles in the trade press. It should be noted that Jim Swan, a Scottish consultant, helped start the distillery. He also helped to choose the distillation equipment as well as the production protocol of the future whiskey. The Kavalan (Yuan Shan) distillery is located one hour from the capital Taipei in Yilan province.

Kavalan means the people of the plains, referring to a tribe who lived in the area. Kavalan is the culmination of a dream of a Taiwanese businessman. The distillery was established in 2006 when Jim Swam and master blender Ian Chang worked together to develop the style of the distillery. The first single malt was released in 2008. The extraordinary solist range saw the light of day in 2009.

And make it rare in 2010 the first medals began to fall. In 4 years the dsitllerie received the trophy for the best disitillery in the Asia Pacific region at the international Wine and Spirit Competition.

In addition today the distillery has received more than 200 medals in various international competitions.
