FOURSQUARE - Sagacity - 12 years old - 48%

The Foursquare distillery was created in 1996 under the will of the Seale family and is located in the south-east of the island of Barbados. It is one of the youngest distilleries in the Caribbean, but its youth also gives it the status of one of the most technologically advanced distilleries in the world. The distillations are made in a double column with 40 trays or in a magnificent still of double transfer pot still style equipped with a small column. Small feature of Foursquare, the distillates of columns and the still pot are blended directly in barrels. Although very recent in its construction, this distillery is the fruit of a rum purist (Richard Seale) and therefore does not tolerate any addition to its raw material. The fruit of this work results in high quality rums.

The Sagacity cuvée is part of the "Exceptional Cask" collection which brings together the best barrels. The latter have been aged for 12 years. They are barrels having contained Bourbon or Sherry. Without any filtration, this rum was distilled both in a column and in Pot Still.
