Figuière - Cuvée Première de Figuière 2019
Figuières is a family estate located in Provence, belonging to the Combard family. The Combard vineyard roots were first cultivated in Burgundy, in Chablis, in the 1970s. In 1993, Alain Combard discovered the 18 hectares of the Domaine Saint André de Figuière where he decided to settle with a strong conviction: the rosé de Provence deserves to be the equal of a great white.
In December 2019, Figuière announced the acquisition of Château Barbeiranne. This operation responds to the growing development of Figuière, its desire to premiumize its ranges and its environmental commitment. Château Barbeiranne is located in Pignans (Côtes-de-Provence), between Pierrefeu and Le Luc facing the Massif des Maures and is made up of 34 hectares of vines. Today, Magali, Delphine and François have succeeded their father Alain at the head of the estate and proudly perpetuate his pioneering spirit.
The Rosé Première is a Côtes de Provence PDO made from Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache grown on a schist terroir, veined with white quartz. Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately. The destemming is total before the direct pneumatic pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is racked then stuck and finally assembled and filtered. The aging potential is 2 to 3 years after bottling.
