Domaine Les Poëte - Odyssée 2017

Domaine Les Poëte, located in the Reuilly and Quincy appellation in the Loire Valley, has been managed by Guillaume Sorbe since 2006. He started his career in cookery and sommellerie before embarking on a BTS in Viticulture / Oenology in Beaune in order to become winemaker. Today, Guillaume Sorbe has 6 hectares of vines in Quincy and Reuilly as well as 1.5 hectares in Touraine. The Estate is conducted in non-certified biodynamy and the vinifications are managed with care and very little intervention.

Odysée is made from 6 plots of Pinot Noir grown on a clay-limestone soil in the Reuilly appellation. The grapes are meticulously harvested then, after destemming of a part and whole bunches for ¼ to ½, a maceration of 5 to 7 days is carried out with daily pumping over. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in tanks followed by malolactic fermentation. Winemaking and aging takes place in separate containers. The aging lasts from 12 to 18 months then the blend of the plots is carried out before bottling.
