LOHIN MCKINNON - Canadian Single Malt Whiskey - 43%
Lohin McKinnon is produced by craft beer giant Central City, British Columbia , Canada . Gary Lohin , creator of Red Racer beer, enlisted Scottish distiller Stuart McKinnon to help produce this whisky. This is their flagship product, first released in 2017.
Gary takes care of producing a tasty fermentation then passes it on to Stuart who distills a full-bodied distillate. This unpeated Single Malt was aged for 3 years in ex-Bourbon casks and then bottled at 43%.
The barley used to produce this fan-favorite whiskey is produced in Canada, then malted in a Kelowna malt house and peat roasted for Peated expression. There are notes of earthy smoke that add depth to this handcrafted single malt whisky, reminiscent of classic Scottish styling with authentic Canadian craftsmanship.
Its quality is recognized around the world: it received a LiquidGold Award with 95.5 points in the 2019 Jim Murray Whiskey Bible, obtaining the best ranking for a Canadian single malt whisky.
