BULLEIT - Rye - 45%

Bulleit Distilling Company is a Whiskey Distillery based in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit Jr. fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe: inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830 and 1860, Thomas left a successful law practice and risked everything to experience life on the frontier. Kentucky limestone-filtered water provides a foundation for the bourbon's character, while charred American oak barrels lend a smoky backbone. High rye content gives it a bold, spicy character with a distinctively smooth, clean finish.

This new recipe for this Bulleit Rye was created in 2011 and contains a high proportion of rye grain (95% compared to the standard 51%).
