The prestigious Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, bringing with them unique expertise in sugarcane cultivation. However, it was not until the late 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the legendary Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, auctioned due to the deep crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he founded the illustrious Habitation Espérance, thus transforming the originally sugar-focused estate into an exceptional distillery. Today, under the leadership of François Longueteau, the House continues this tradition of excellence, remaining the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner combines the roles of passionate farmer and experienced master distiller.
Longueteau rums are made from sugarcane grown exclusively on their own lands. Harvested at optimal maturity, the cane is crushed the same day to preserve all its freshness and aromatic richness. Fermentation lasts 48 hours, carried out without additives or inputs, ensuring authentic taste purity. Distillation is then carefully performed in a Savalle column with 28 plates, a traditional process that enhances every aromatic note and gives this white rum its unique finesse.
The limited edition RSMA celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Régiment du Service Militaire Adapté of Guadeloupe. Since its creation in December 1961, this regiment has played a key role in the island's development by carrying out essential projects: construction of roads, buildings, marina infrastructures, airfield development, and especially in the social and professional integration of young Guadeloupeans. By supporting this cuvée, each bottle purchased donates 2€ to the Terre Fraternité association, dedicated to supporting the wounded, their families, and the relatives of soldiers fallen in service in the French Army.
