RHUM LONGUETEAU - Rhum Blanc - Cuvée RSMA 60 ANS - 60%
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, but it was not until the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the crisis of the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to change the domain from sugar refinery to distillery. Today, François Longueteau manages the House, the only distillery in Guadeloupe whose owner is both the farmer and the master distiller.
His rums come entirely from his own sugar canes. They are harvested and crushed the same day at full maturity. Following a 48-hour fermentation without inputs, the juices are distilled in a Savalle column with 28 trays.
The RSMA limited edition is a cuvée for the 60th anniversary of the Régiment du Service Militaire Adapté de la Guadeloupe. Since its creation in December 1961, this army corps has carried out projects on the island of Guadeloupe: tracks, buildings, marinas, airfield... and participates in the socio-professional integration of young inhabitants of Guadeloupe. For each bottle purchased, €2 is donated to the Terre Fraternité association, for the wounded, relatives and families of those who have died in service with the Army.
