GLENFARCLAS - Limited Rare Bottling - Oloroso Sherry Cask - 16 ans - Millésime 1991 - Bottled 2007 - 46%
The Glenfarclas Distillery is located in Ballindalloch, in the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery first started operations before 1791 but was granted a licence in 1836 when it was run by Robert Hay. On 8 June 1865, it was bought by John Grant and is still owned and run by his descendants, making it truly independent. In 2007, Glenfarclas launched The Family Casks, a collection of 43 Single Cask bottlings, with one from every year from 1952 to 1994. This collection now extends to 2001, but the distillery no longer has stock of casks from 1952 and 1953.
For this edition, the following casks were used; Sherry Butts No. 213, 214 and 215 (distilled on the 25th of January 1991), Sherry Butt No. 5624 (distilled on the 14th of June 1991) and Refill Sherry Hogshead No. 10219 (distilled on the 5th of December 1991).
