PLANTATION - Under The Sea Collection - Jamaica MSP - 15 ans d'âge - Millésime 2007 - 48.4%
The history of Plantation begins in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered Maison Ferrand in Cognac. He surrounds himself with a team of enthusiasts and travels around the world to establish a distribution network sharing the same values and the same vision as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he set off for the Caribbean with the idea of reselling some of his used Cognac barrels to other producers, notably rum producers. In search of the best rums in the Caribbean, he created Plantation, a range of terroir rums. Today, the House is focused on three great spirits: Cognac Ferrand from Grande Champagne, French Gin Citadelle and Rum from Terroirs Plantation. Plantation also owns West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, and is a shareholder of National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond).
Plantation's "Under the Sea" collection highlights the underwater flora and fauna of six rum-producing countries. Each bottling is distinguished by the emblematic colours and local species of its region. This edition is a molasses rum from Jamaica, distilled in 2007 in a Vendôme Double-Retort still. This Clarendon MSP was aged for 13 years in ex-Bourbon barrels in a tropical climate, then 2 years in a continental climate, in Maison Ferrand oak barrels.
