OLD BROTHERS - HJF 2008 - Hampden - Esters & Co Selection - Bottled 2022 - 60.8%
The history of Old Brothers dates back to 2004, when the friendship between Anthony Martins and Julien Leroux was born during their meeting in the Army and the many missions around the world that they carried out together. Anthony Martins trained at the Paris wine school and, having obtained a wine cellar sommelier diploma, he created "La Source" , a cellar specializing in spirits, in Toulouse in December 2015. Quickly, the idea to open an independent bottling company is set up and the structure opens in November 2016. They travel the world's distilleries and bring back the best expressions of distillation. Old Brothers bottles are numbered by hand, the vegetable cord that adorns the neck is placed by Anthony and Julien. The tag is held on by a ribbon, sealed with a wax seal bearing the logo of a compass that has represented their travels around the world for years.
HJF 2008 is the result of a long fermentation of 3 weeks in pot still. The rum was aged 12 years in a tropical climate and 1 year in a continental climate, in Bourbon barrels. The share of angels was 52% and 481 bottles were produced.
