Compagnie des Indes - Savanna - 18 years old - Barrel April 2004 - Traditional - 54.1%
Compagnie des Indes was created in 2014 by Florent Beuchet , an independent bottler from Burgundy. The idea was born from the Portuguese, English, Dutch and French East India companies of the 17th and 18th centuries, which selected rare commodities from distant lands and imported them into their respective countries. Compagnie des Indes rums are selected with great rigor. They are bottled in Single Casks or blended, in order to bring out the typicality and quality of each destination.
This limited edition of 283 bottles comes from the Savanna distillery located on Reunion Island. It was distilled in April 2004 and bottled 18 years later in April 2022. It was aged 14 years in a tropical climate in ex-Cognac casks , then refined for 4 years in a continental climate in ex-rum TDL casks (Trinidad Distillers Limited) . It comes from a single cask ( #RS121).
