Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - The Unexpected II - French Single Cask - Novembre 2011 - Bottled 2022 - 10 ans - 50%

The independent bottler Michel Couvreur was originally a producer and trader of Burgundy wine. He turned to the world of whisky in 1978 and distilled for the first time in Edradour in 1986. At the time, he wanted to buy a distillery in Scotland but his wife was against it and they then decided to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, and to intervene in the maturation of whiskies; mainly in Sherry and Port barrels. The range is very varied and meticulous work of blending, selecting new barrels, unusual techniques is undertaken daily. Since his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra continue the work of Michel Couvreur.

The Unexpected No.2 is brewed exclusively from Vanessa barley. It was distilled in French pot still on the 15th of November 2011. It was aged and matured more than 10 years in Cream Sherry cask in Burgundy and bottled on the 9thof February 2022. 3,000 bottles have been produced.
