Domaine Fontchêne - René Milan - Léon - Rosé 2021
Domaine Fontchêne is located in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the Alpilles . It belongs to René Milan , son of a winegrower and nephew of Henri Milan. Its vineyard is conducted in certified biodynamic agriculture . It works to preserve the richness of the Alpilles terroir, and to bring its soils back to life. He uses the lunar calendar in the vineyard as in the cellar: planting on the root day, bottling and racking on the fruit day.
Léon Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre . The vines are grown on clay-silty soils and rolled pebbles. After the manual harvest, the pressing is carried out in whole bunches. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats and malolactic fermentation is not practiced to preserve freshness. The aging lasts 6 months on fine lees with stirring .
