Adriatico was created by Jean-Robert Bellanger in the Puglia, Italy . Her mother used to add two drops of Amaretto to her favorite dessert: Tiramisu. This new generation of Amaretto is made only with high quality natural ingredients , produced in Italy. The almonds used are the Almonds from Puglia , known for their excellent taste as well as the Filippo Cea almonds . They are handpicked, then roasted for hours before undergoing a process of maceration and distillation. They are then combined with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa and a pinch of coffee. Cane sugar is used to a lesser extent than traditional Amaretto. Finally, Jean-Robert adds a pinch of salt from Margherita di Savoia, to bring a delicate touch that evokes the Adriatic Sea.
This Amaretto has been aged for 12 months in rum barrels that have contained Caroni . This edition is limited to 1,500 bottles.
