Okayama is a brand created in 2011 by the Miyashita sake brewery, located in Japan . Miyashita Brewery was founded in 1915 by two brothers: Kamezo and Motosaburo Miyashita. It moved in 1967 to settle on the current site, on the banks of the Asahi River, not far from the city of Okayama. To mark the company's 90th anniversary, the decision to distill malt and create the Okayama brand was taken, and the first whiskey was marketed in 2011. Building on this success, the team decided to perfect their techniques and equipped with state-of-the-art tools thanks to the importation of a German still in 2015.
Okayama Triple Cask is made from local barley and water from the Asahikawa spring. The whiskey is aged in a combination of 3 casks : Sherry Pedro Ximénez, Brandy and Mizunara cask, a Japanese wood.
