Worthy Park - Old rum cream - 15%
Worthy Park is a distillery located in Jamaica , in the Lluidas Valley . It was established in 1670 and the building has remained the same since as the estate has expanded through the acquisition of neighboring properties. The property has been in the Clarke family since 1918. At that time, Worthy Park was not only engaged in the cultivation of sugar cane and the production of sugar , but the land was used for beef cattle, citrus fruits, poultry and other agricultural crops. However, there has been a steady reduction in polyculture and animal husbandry in favor of increased sugar cane cultivation and sugar production: around 40% of the land is currently cultivated for the sugar industry with 20 different varieties of cane . Worthy Park has been producing rum since the 1740s. There was a surplus of Jamaican rum after World War II and, under an agreement with the Spirits Pool Association of Jamaica, production was halted in 1962 and Worthy Park was ceased operations, only temporarily. After decades of being deprived of distillation, the Clarke family decided in 2004 that there was room for Jamaican rum, made with quality ingredients by distilling in the traditional Jamaican Pot-Still method .
This old rum cream is a blend of old rum and fresh cream .
