The Hendrick's Distillery is located in the charming village of Girvan, in the heart of Ayrshire, an iconic region in the southwest of Scotland. It majestically overlooks the volcanic island of Ailsa Craig, famous for its granite stones used in the making of billiard balls. Since 1999, Lesley Gracie, a passionate and innovative master distiller, has crafted the unique recipe that contributed to the worldwide fame of Hendrick’s Gin. The distillation of this exceptional gin is based on a subtle blend of 11 natural botanical plants, enriched with delicate notes of rose petals and fresh cucumber, giving the gin an incomparable freshness and aromatic complexity. The distillation is carried out through two rare and complementary types of stills: the Bennett, a historic copper still dating back to 1860, and the Carter-Head, a unique still from 1948, of which only a few examples remain today. The Bennett allows a slow infusion of the botanicals in neutral alcohol throughout the night, while the Carter-Head gently distills the botanicals suspended in a basket at the top of its neck, producing a pure and intense botanical vapor.
