Château de Plaisance - Savennières 2021
The Château de Plaisance is located in Rochefort-sur-Loire, in the heart of Anjou in the Loire Valley . The estate, which has been organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, was taken over from the Rochais family by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019. This 32-year-old young Angers cultivates 25 hectares of vines on the terroirs of Chaume, Quarts de Chaume and Savennières. . The Château de Plaisance is globally committed to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, towards the most neutral carbon footprint possible.
The Savennières cuvée is made from Chenin Blanc whose vines are around 35 years old, and grown on 3 hectares. The grapes are put in slow and cold pressing, and fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in barrels. The malolactic fermentation is partial and the wine is aged in barrels for 12 months .
