RENEGADE - Studies - Dunfermline - Antipodes - 55%
Renegade Rum Distillery is the latest project from the man behind the revival of Bruichladdich Single Malt whiskey from Islay and the Waterford Distillery based on the terroirs of Ireland: Mark Reynier . He chose Grenada because of its wide range of altitudes, microclimates and soils. In collaboration with CaneCo's agricultural partners, he was able to cultivate many varieties of sugar cane across the island on the different terroirs. Old and young, skilled or amateur, many Grenadians have learned new skills, mastered modern machinery, and turned parts of the island into high-quality sugarcane farms.
Dumferline from the Etudes range is made from a variety called Lacalome Red (B80689) harvested between November 9 and 20, 2020 on the Anderson field at the Dumferline farm, on the clay soil of Mango Lane. The distillation took place on November 13 and 14, 2020 in a still. The rum was transferred to 15 Kelvin Cooperage 200 liter first fill American oak barrels . 1,200 bottles were produced exclusively for La Maison du Whiskey as part of its Antipodes range.
More information is available on the Renegade website in the "CaneCode" section with the code listed on the back of the bottle.
