Château de Lébéron - Armagnac Ténarèze - Soléra 2001 - 43.2%
The Château de Léberon is located in Cassaigne, in the Armagnac appellation, in the Gers. In 1939, Osmin Rozès bought the estate and undertook major renovations. The fourth generation, represented by Caroline Rozès , is in charge of the property today. The Château de Lébéron has vineyards of more than 50 hectares, cultivated with respect for the environment and biodiversity . The grape varieties planted are Ugni Blanc, Colombard and Baco and the age of the vines is on average 40 years old, some are over 60 years old. The grapes are distilled in a traditional Armagnac still, called “continuous heating”. The aging of the Armagnacs takes place within the very walls of the château. Its walls are thick, which allows for a constant level of humidity and temperature throughout the year, ideal conditions for the gradual aging of eaux-de-vie. The Château de Lébéron also has a perpetual Solera reserve started in 2001. The Armagnacs are vintage, cask strength and from a single cask. Bottling is made to order.
This Armagnac is a blend of Ugni Blanc (60%), Colombard (20%) and Baco (20%). It comes from a 55 hectoliter cask filled using the Solera method . Each year, 10% of the volume is taken and supplied with Armagnac from year N-3.
