Domaine Belargus - Layon 2018
Domaine Belargus is located in Val-du-Layon, in the heart of Anjou Noir in the Loire Valley. The vines are spread around three main islets (Savennières, Quarts-de-Chaume and the Coteaux du Layon), themselves composed of singular terroirs, precisely defined by their exposure, their subsoil or their slope. Built by Ivan Massonnat , the 20-hectare biodynamic estate is dedicated to Chenin Blanc and explores these micro-terroirs in a parcel-based approach inspired by Burgundy climates. The team is made up of young talents such as Adrien Moreau as cellar manager and Amaury Chartier as cultivation manager, and the estate benefits from the support of true Loire pioneers such as Jo Pithon and Guy Bossard.
Layon is the result of an assembly of plots bordering the Layon, spread over three villages: Beaulieu-sur-Layon, Saint-Lambert du Lattay and Saint-Aubin de Luigné. This sweet wine is made from Chenin Blanc grown on 6.51 hectares on a shale terroir exposed on the north and south slopes of the ridge.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
