Maison Vonville - Rouge d'Ottrott 2020
Maison Vonville is located in Ottrott, in Alsace . It was founded in 1830 and has been passed down for several generations. Maison Vonville has favored for many years a vine culture that respects its environment, the 13-hectare vineyard has been certified in organic farming since 2019. Pinot Noir is the flagship grape variety of the house. Three types of soils are distinguished: the first part is essentially made up of sandy-clayey silt. In the center, it is a small enclave which presents a greater proportion of clay. The last part is sandy-sandstone. The basement of Ottrott is generally made up of marls colored by iron oxides, which gives it a good tannic structure, conducive to producing great red wines for laying down.
Rouge d'Ottrott is made from young Pinot Noir vines. The maceration lasts 7 days then the wine is aged for 9 months in oak barrels .
