MICHEL COUVREUR Whiskey - Vin Jaune Stéphane Tissot - 9 years - Edition 2024 - 48%
Independent bottler Michel Couvreur was originally a Burgundy wine producer and trader. He turned to the world of whiskey in 1978 and distilled for the first time in Edradour in 1986. At the time, he wanted to buy a distillery in Scotland but his wife was against it and they decided to settle in Bouze -Lès-Beaune , halfway between Scotland and Andalusia, and to intervene in the breeding of whiskeys; mainly in Sherry and Port barrels. The range is very varied and meticulous work of assembly, selection of new barrels and unusual techniques is undertaken daily. Since his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued the work of Michel Couvreur.
Vj is a Single Malt distilled in February 2015 in Scotland, then aged for 9 years in Vin Jaune barrels from Domaine Stéphane Tissot in the Burgundian cellars of Michel Couvreur. It was bottled on February 15, 2024 and 2,500 bottles were produced.
