Château Marjosse - White 2022
Château Marjosse is located in Grézillac, in the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation of the Bordeaux wine region. It belongs to Pierre Lurton , the director of Yquem and Cheval Blanc. Purchased in 1991, the vineyard was restructured and a new ultra-modern winery was built in 2000. Today, the vineyard is mainly planted with red grape varieties, in an appellation usually recognized for its white wines. The particularity of the Château Marjosse terroir is that it is made up of Astéries limestone , which is also found in the Saint-Emilion terroir.
Château Marjosse Blanc 2022 is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc (40%), Sémillon (40%), Sauvignon Gris (15%) and Muscadelle (5%) . Each grape variety is harvested and vinified separately. The grapes are harvested in the morning and then pressed immediately. The juices are protected from oxidation by inerting with dry ice. They are kept cold, on lees for a few days, in order to release more aromatic precursors. After fermentation, the wines are aged for 2 to 3 months in concrete vats on fine lees with stirring twice a week. Part of the wine (8%) is aged in barrels . The assembly is carried out before bottling.
