Château MOUTON ROTHSCHILD - Plum Eau de Vie - 42%
The Château Mouton Rothschild, a prestigious emblem of the Bordeaux vineyard, is located in the famous commune of Pauillac, at the heart of the Bordeaux wine region. It is among the First Growths (Premiers Crus Classés) of the historic 1855 classification, officially classified in 1973. Originally known as Brane-Mouton, this legendary estate was renamed by the Rothschild family upon acquisition in 1853, who quickly built its reputation for excellence. Under the visionary leadership of Baron Philippe de Rothschild from 1922, the château innovated by bottling on-site starting in 1924, a practice still rare at the time. After World War II, a unique concept was introduced: each vintage featured a label designed by a renowned artist, making each bottle a true work of art. The estate covers 90 hectares of vineyards, mostly planted on gravelly-sandy soils, in the northern part of Pauillac, just south of its illustrious neighbor, Château Lafite Rothschild.
