SWELL DE SPIRITS - Constantia Duo Pack - Eastern Tales n°1+3
Swell de Spirits is an independent, family-owned bottler based in Pessac, France. The company was founded in 2021 by Michael Barbaria and Kelly . They release a variety of limited edition, rum, whiskey, armagnac bottles and cognac from distilleries around the world.
This pack brings together two Eastern Tales editions; a 2014 Ben Nevis Single Malt and a 2009 New Yarmouth Jamaican rum:
*Eastern Tales 01 “The Rooster” is the inaugural vintage of the opening of our gastronomic restaurant Constantia , on September 6, 2024 in Bordeaux. Representing Fidelity and Punctuality, the rooster is the tenth sign of the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac . In Chinese culture, the rooster has a symbolic meaning with generally auspicious connotations. For the ancestors, the crowing of the rooster was a notable sign because it wakes people up and ends the darkness. This Single Malt comes from the Ben Nevis distillery - Peated , located in the Highlands of Scotland . It was distilled in 2014 and aged for 10 years in Bourbon hogshead casks ; larger capacity barrels (250 liters) that impregnate the wood less intensely, thus offering a more subtle refinement. It was bottled in April 2024 at cask strength (58.1%). Only 140 bottles were produced.
*Eastern Tales n°3 “The Heron” is the third vintage in this series created especially for our gastronomic restaurant Constantia which opened on September 6, 2024 in Bordeaux. The Heron represents purity, serenity and prosperity. It is the 'one of the important symbols of ancient Chinese culture, often depicted in paintings, ceramics and poems to express wishes for happiness, prosperity and success. This Jamaican rum comes from the New Yarmouth Distillery . It is the 2009 vintage, a rare and sought-after year for this distillery thanks to its high ester content. It aged for 15 years in ex-bourbon barrels. It was bottled in June 2024, cask strength (61.2%) . Only 200 bottles were produced.
