Grand Jour Estate 2023
Domaine Grand Jour is located in the commune of Yvrac, on the right bank of the Bordeaux wine region. It is owned by Rémi Lamerat , a former French international rugby player. In January 2022, he acquired this property, which had previously been owned by the Guillot family since 1974. Eager to reflect his family and artisanal project, Rémi Lamerat renamed the estate "Domaine Grand Jour". Since its acquisition, the estate has been converting to organic farming and covers 10 hectares of vines, land and woodland. The new winemaker aspires to create original and unique wines that break with the codes of the Bordeaux wine industry. He experiments with different varieties of aging containers: vats, concrete eggs, glass wine globes. He is also interested in old Bordeaux grape varieties as well as resistant grape varieties, with the aim of creating even more atypical wines.
Domaine Grand Jour 2023 is made from Merlot , mainly from fifty-year-old vines, supplemented by two young plots planted in 2019.
Grape variety: 100% Merlot
