The house The Maugée is renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863 and passes from the status of candy to that of distillery following its acquisition by Amedee Aubery in 1882, this young captain of industry then modernizes the buildings and supplies the area with energy thanks to the Lézarde river which crosses the field and still serves today to dilute the cane juice. The Hayot family (Yves and José) bought the property in 1994 after a judicial reorganization of the former owners, renovations were then undertaken in the Martinique housing classified historic monument and the column is transferred to the Simon. The Saint-Etienne brand becomes HSE (for Habitation Saint-Etienne).

This HSE Sherry Finish rum - Pedro Ximenez 2005 vintage is part of the range of extra old rums "finishes of the world". True invitation to travel, HSE has selected barrels of wines and spirits from around the world for the refining of their rums. These different finishes bring a strong and unique identity to their rums. This novelty has made a great noise in the world of connoisseurs by its innovative approach, a bold bet and a great success.
After a "traditional" aging of 7 years in oak barrels this old rum vintage was placed in barrels of ex-Sherry Pedro Ximénez 6 months. The result is an original rum with particular and flattering fragrances. A true delight that we can advise with eyes closed to lovers of rum and / or sherry!
