RHUM HSE - Very old rum - Porto finish - Vintage 2009 - 42%
The house The Maugée is renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863 and passes from the status of candy to that of distillery following its acquisition by Amedee Aubery in 1882, this young captain of industry then modernizes the buildings and supplies the area with energy thanks to the Lézarde river which crosses the field and still serves today to dilute the cane juice. The Hayot family (Yves and José) bought the property in 1994 after a judicial reorganization of the former owners, renovations were then undertaken in the Martinique housing classified historic monument and the column is transferred to the Simon. The Saint-Etienne brand becomes HSE (for Habitation Saint-Etienne).
This vintage 2009 HSE Porto Finish rum is part of the range of extra old rums "the finishes of the world". True invitation to travel, HSE has selected barrels of wines and spirits from around the world for the refining of their rums. These different finishes bring a strong and unique identity to their rums. This novelty has made a great noise in the world of connoisseurs by its innovative approach, a bold bet and a great success. After a "traditional" aging of 5 years in American oak barrels from Kentucky and Missouri, this rum was placed in ex-Porto casks of 225 and 500 liters for 12 months. The result is an original rum, a little treat from Martinique with an original flavor
All the spirits offered are in stock and also available in our store at 3 rue Lucien Faure in BORDEAUX - Line stop B/7/32 Cité du vin
