Aubert De Villaine (co-manager of the famous Romanée-Conti) created this domain in Côte Chalonnaise on this AOC Bouzeron. In 1973. Pierre De Benoist, his nephew, took it over in 2003 and also fell in love. for this variety which was once very common in Burgundy: Aligoté, made from a cross between Pinot Noir and Gouais.
The estate, organic since 1986 and certified in 1997, uses an old variety: Golden Aligoté (and not green to obtain more intense maturities). The musts ferment in oak barrels, vats and tuns.
This grape variety, on these marl-limestone hillsides, expresses itself wonderfully. Subtlety and finesse are the key words. After aeration, we perceive pretty notes of citrus fruits and white flowers. The palate is chiseled around a delicate tension that allows you to best feel the chalky and saline minerality of the finish.
