East India Company - Aged Rum - Barbados - 10 Years - Foursquare - Brut de Boute - 62.1%
The Compagnie des Indes was founded in 2016 on the initiative of Pierre Beuchet. It is inspired by companies from the East Indies that existed in the seventeenth and eighteenth century, specializing in the trade of fine products from distant countries. The rums of the Compagnie des Indes are therefore representative of their original terroir, they are authentic rums with strong identity that invite you to travel in their native soil.
The Foursquare Distillery was born in 1996 under the control of the Seale family and is located in the South East of the island of Barbados. It is one of the youngest distilleries in the Caribbean, but its youth also gives it the status of one of the most advanced distilleries in the world from a technological point of view. The distillations are done in a double column with 40 trays or in a beautiful double still pot still pot still equipped with a small column. Small particularity of Foursquare, the assemblies of the distillates of columns and the pot still are made directly in barrels. Although very recent in its construction, this distillery is the fruit of a rum purist (Richard Seale) and therefore does not tolerate any addition to its raw material. The result of this work results in high quality rums.
Compagnie des Indes Barbados Foursquare 10 years raw cask, so is a Single Cask and a Cask Strength. That is to say that it comes from a single barrel (the number BFD27 for the most curious) and that it has not been reduced like his little brother (43%), so it is 62, 1%. It was distilled in December 2007 and then aged for 10 years before it was brought back to France where the Compagnie des Indes took charge of its bottling in July 2018.
