RUM LONGUETEAU - Aged rum - Carafe 120 years n ° 335/500 - 43%
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, it was towards the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, then put up for auction following a crisis of the sugar industry. A few years later, in 1895, he decided to purchase the Esperance home to move from being a sugar factory to a distillery.
Today it is François Longueteau who takes care of the house, the only distillery of Guadeloupe whose owner is at the same time the farmer and the master distiller. His rums are 100% derived from his own sugar cane. The juices are harvested and crushed the same day to their full maturity, following a 48h fermentation "without special effects" (no antifoam, no acidifying or other additions ...), the juices are then distilled in a column Savalle 28 trays.
This 120-year-old carafe n ° 355/500 is decorated with 4 curves for the 4 generations of Longueteau that followed one another and showcases a superb blend of the historic vintages of the Longueteau house of each of these generations ...
