“Cul de Beaujeu” is the deformation of “Clos de Beaujeu”, a vineyard cleared in the early Middle Ages by the monks of Beaujeu.
This hillside, with its exceptional terroir, of Kimmeridgian marls, is the only one in the Sancerre vineyard, before phylloxera, to produce wine reserved for divine services at the Cathedral or offered to princes and archbishops.

Domaine Vincent Delaporte is the only one to produce "Cul de Beaujeu" in Pinot Noir.

On tasting, this elegant wine presents a dark color with very young reflections. The nose is open and unfolds a complex aromatic of black fruits, hints of menthol, and it is mixed with notes of noble leather as well as nuances of chestnut. The balance of the mouth is sumptuous, as much for its noble material as for its finesse. The impact of the finish, full of density and persistence, is remarkable.
