The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, it is towards the end of the XIXth century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquires part of the Marquisat of Sainte-Marie, then put on sale at the auction following a crisis of the sugar industry. A few years later, in 1895, he decided to purchase the Esperance home to move from being a sugar factory to a distillery.

Today it is François Longueteau who takes care of the house, the only distillery of Guadeloupe whose owner is at the same time the farmer and the master distiller. His rums are 100% derived from his own sugar cane. The juices are harvested and crushed the same day at their full maturity. Following a fermentation of 48h "without special effects" (no antifoam, no acidifying or other additions ...), the juices are distilled in a column Savalle 28 trays.

Longueteau Genesis is a tribute to Henri Longueteau, founder of the Longueteau house and to the 4 generations who have been able to bear the colors and the Longueteau know-how. An essential brand that offers us here a remarkable demonstration. This re-edition of Longueteau Genesis comes from the harvest of red canes (R579) of the year 2017. Its grinding and its fermentation give rise to a distillation carried out at 72,25 ° then to the resting in stainless tank during 24 month. During this period of rest, the rum is regularly aerated and stirred, in order to bring as much as possible to its aromatic profile. The bottling of this rum Genesis was made gross of column (without reduction) with the Domain of Marquisat.
