DOMAINE PHILIPPE BORNARD - Le vin Jaune 2012
Domaine Philippe Bornard is one of the most renowned in the Jura. Originally from the village of Pupillin, Philippe Bornard had always worked in the vineyard but was selling his grapes to the cooperative wine cellar of his village before taking the plunge in 2005, producing his own wines. Today, Tony Bornard (his son) manages the Domaine which extends over 11 hectares in Arbois-Pupillin, and in the Côtes du Jura. The vineyard is planted in Chardonnay, Savagnin and Melon for the white grape varieties and in Ploussard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir for the red grape varieties. The vines are cultivated with respect for the environment, in organic certification with very little human intervention.
The Vin Jaune 2012 from Domaine Bornard is a powerful and oxidative gastronomic wine, with good acidity which can be kept until 2050 or even more!
Grape variety: 100% Savagnin
