MERSER & CO - Double Barrel - 43,1%
Charles Merser & Co. is made by the Hayman family, and has been London's first blended rum house for over a century. The rum is distilled in the Caribbean, but blended in London. In keeping with traditions established by the London brewing houses of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, there is no sugar or coloring added to rum aged in oak barrels.
The dimpled bottle represents the Thames on which the rum was carried, while the logo of the hunting dog sitting on a pole refers to the days when most Londoners could not read and followed symbols to find their way towards the merchant houses. Merser literally means "merchant" in Old English.
The Double Barrel blend is created by first expertly sourcing aged component rums from Barbados, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Panama. These rums are blended together and left to rest in a marrying cask in London for a further period of six months before being bottled.
