Darnley's Spiced - Gin - 40%
The Darnley’s story begins in 1565 when Lord Darnley first met his wife to be, Mary Queen of Scots, at Wemyss Castle in Fife, on the East coast of Scotland. Centuries later and the new generation of the Wemyss family used this historical moment as inspiration for the name Darnley’s Gin and the elderflower growing wild around the castle, inspired their first gin recipe.
Wemyss Malts is an independant bottler from Scotland. It was founded in 2005 by brother and sister William and Isabella Wemyss.
Darnley’s Spiced is distilled in a 350-litres copper pot still named Dorothy. As a London Dry Gin, no flavours or sugars can be added after distillation, only purified water to reduce it to its bottling strength. Ten botanicals are used: Juniper, angelica root, coriander seed, cinnamon, cumin, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, grains of paradise and cassia.
