Cognac CAMUS - XO - Borderies Family Reserve - 40%
Camus is an independent, family-owned Cognac House located in the Borderies estate since 1863. It was founded by Jean-Baptiste Camus and is today managed by the fifth generation, Cyril Camus. At the end of the 19th century, Camus began to export his Cognac to England, securing his first foreign market. It continued to increase exports in the 20th century across Europe and further east, becoming the official cognac of the court of Tsar Nicholas II. Camus owns 180 hectares of land and owns the largest plots of all producers of the Cognac cru of Borderies. The eau-de-vie is made from a blend of common grape varieties: Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche and Colombard.
XO Borderies Family Reserve comes from the smallest Cru of the same name of the region, known for its unique soil composition. This Single-Estate Cognac is produced exclusively from the private vineyards of the Camus family. They make sure that these vineyards are cultivated in a sustainable way, preserving the environment and the fauna. Each barrel is unique, the wines from each vineyard plot being distilled and aged in separate barrels.
