Domaine des Huards - Ouvrage 2015
Domaine des Huards is located in Cour-Cheverny, in the Loire Valley. Winegrowers at Domaine des Huards since 1846, the Gendrier family has been leading the vineyard according to organic and biodynamic farming practices since 1998. From 1922, the family has been making wines from the Romorantin grape variety. In 1950, four hectares of vines were cultivated, mainly made up of the Romorantin grape variety. In the 1960s, the emphasis was on the evolution and growth of the vineyard. Today, the estate is managed by Jocelyne and Michel Gendrier.
Ouvrage is mainly composed of Pinot Noir. The grapes are placed directly into the vats using an elevator conveyor belt. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts. The grapes are lightly pressed. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is left to mature several months before bottling.
