Château Thivin - Reverdon 2019
Château Thivin is located in Mont-Brouilly, in Beaujolais. It belongs to the Geoffray family which has produced wines for 6 generations. Zaccharie and Marguerite Geoffray bought on June 8, 1877 Château Thivin and its two hectares of vines around the estate. Each succeeding generation has brought new plots to the construction of the estate and brought about changes in cultivation and winemaking methods. The estate's vines are mainly located on the Crus Côte de Brouilly and Brouilly, but the family also produces white, rosé and sparkling Beaujolais cuvées. The family is constantly seeking to optimise cultivation practices, to ensure a perfect balance of the vineyard ecosystem with healthy vines and grapes of optimal quality.
Reverdon is made from Gamay Noir with white juice, from the granite arena of the place called "Reverdon" opposite Mont Brouilly. The grapes are harvested manually and transported in small boxes to respect their quality. The vinification is done in whole bunches by gravity in order to use neither pump nor conveyor. The maceration lasts only 8 days to capture all the freshness of the fruit, and the aging lasts 7 months in cement vats.
Grape variety: 100% Gamay
