Domaine de la Chevalerie - Noms d'Oiseaux 2017
Domaine de la Chevalerie is located in Restigné, in the Bourgueil appellation, in the Loire Valley. La Chevalerie is a long family story, started almost 400 years ago. From this line of winemakers, the family inherited invaluable know-how and in-depth knowledge of each of the plots of the estate. Today the adventure continues with Pierre Caslot and his children, two generations united to exploit this 38-hectare estate and perpetuate the family tradition. They cultivate Cabernet Franc vines, 30 to 70 years-old on average. Attentive to preserve the essential balance of the ecosystem, the Caslots work according to organic (certified since 2008) and biodynamic principles (certified since 2012).
Noms d'Oiseaux is made from Cabernet Franc, from two parcels symbolic of the domain, each situated at the two extremities of the slope overlooking the Loire. The name “Nom d’Oiseaux” was chosen to warn of the urgent need to respect the biodiversity. The wine is aged in cement vats.
Grape variety: 100% Cabernet Franc
