PLANTATION - Panama 2008 - Single Cask 13 ans - Bottled 2021 - 45.7%
The history of Plantation begins in 1989 when Alexandre Gabriel discovered Maison Ferrand in Cognac. He surrounds himself with a team of enthusiasts and travels around the world to establish a distribution network sharing the same values and the same vision as Maison Ferrand. In the 1990s, he set off for the Caribbean with the idea of reselling some of his used Cognac barrels to other producers, notably rum producers. In search of the best rums in the Caribbean, he created Plantation, a range of terroir rums. Today, the House is focused on three great spirits: Cognac Ferrand from Grande Champagne, French Gin Citadelle and Rum from Terroirs Plantation. Plantation also owns West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, and is a shareholder of National Rum of Jamaica (Clarendon Distillery and Long Pond).
This Plantation was distilled in 2008 at the Alcoholes del Istmo Distillery in Panama. The molasses rum was distilled in column still and aged for 12 years in tropical climate in Las Cabras de Pesé in 200-litres Bourbon casks. It was then aged for 1 year in continental climate in Javrezac in 400-litres Ferrand casks. It contains 70 g/hL AA of esters.
