OLD BROTHERS - LPCH 2009 Cask strength - Edition Clos des Millesimes n°2 - Long Pond Clarendon Hampden - Bottled 2022 - 60.1%
The history of Old Brothers dates back to 2004, when the friendship between Anthony Martins and Julien Leroux was born during their meeting in the Army and the many missions around the world that they carried out together. Anthony Martins trained at the Paris wine school and, having obtained a wine cellar sommelier diploma, he created "La Source" , a cellar specializing in spirits, in Toulouse in December 2015. Quickly, the idea to open an independent bottling company is set up and the structure opens in November 2016. They travel the world's distilleries and bring back the best expressions of distillation. Old Brothers bottles are numbered by hand, the vegetable cord that adorns the neck is placed by Anthony and Julien. The tag is held on by a ribbon, sealed with a wax seal bearing the logo of a compass that has represented their travels around the world for years.
Old Brothers presents an LPCH produced according to the rules of the Jamaican art, with native yeasts and a long fermentation, followed by a 100% Pot Still distillation. This edition produced in collaboration with our Clos des Millésimes boutique is bottled at 60.1%. It is based on L ong Pond ITP 2009 + Hampden HJF 2002 and Clarendon 2001 .
Aging takes place over 12 years, including 11 years in a tropical climate and 1.5 years in a continental climate in Bourbon barrels. An energetic rum in a limited edition of 566 bottles.
This exceptional Jamaican rum gives pride of place to freshness and fruit. Gold in colour, its scents of jack fruit, Granny Smith apple and roasted pineapple transport us to Jamaica. On the palate, this rum offers a range of fruity and flowery flavors such as strawberry and red fruits, with a texture of a thick and soft fruit or almond paste. The finish offers a beautiful ray of Jamaican sunshine, greedy and under a background of exotic fruits.
