Domaine Vincent Girardin - Montrachet 2018
The Domaine Vincent Girardin is located in Meursault, in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy . In 1980, at the age of 19, Vincent Girardin, from a wine-growing family in Santenay since the 17th century, wanted to become independent and started with the two hectares of vines inherited from his parents. Very quickly, the quality of its wines was recognized worldwide and enabled it to expand its activity by focusing mainly on the great whites and reds of the Côte de Beaune (Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, Saint Aubin, Santenay , Savigny Les Beaune, Aloxe Corton, Volnay and Pommard). In 2012, Vincent Girardin sold his business to a historical partner of the House: Mr. Nié , President of the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois in Beaune.
The Montrachet Grand Cru comes from Chardonnay vines which are around 50 years old, located in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The aging lasts 18 months on the lees , without stirring. One month before bottling, the wine from the different barrels is placed in stainless steel vats for blending. Bottling is done according to the lunar calendar.
